The shop at the end
of the alley.
골목 (golmok) means alley — the small street you cut through on the way home. That's where this kind of shop always was: two tables, a steaming pan, and an owner who knew whether you wanted your tteokbokki extra spicy before you asked.
We opened in 2008 with one pan and a handwritten menu taped to the window. Kids who came in after school now bring their own kids. The recipes haven't moved, the prices barely have, and the gimbap still sells out before the afternoon.
